![]() ![]() A processor is primarily an I/O device that can temporarily store bits inside of registers to be calculated with. I think a more accurate metaphor might be a cerebral cortex itself, as processors do not necessarily do all that a brain does, such as storing memory, but I digress, this metaphor still gets the job done. The CPU can often be metaphorically compared to the human brain, as it is essentially the brain of the operation when it comes to a computer. At the core of computer theory lies a very important component of hardware, the Central Processing Unit, or CPU. Needless to say, computer theory is a very important subject, especially in the context of Data Science. Computing technology is so vital to the modern era that we have even dubbed the portion of time that we live in “ The Information Era” due to the population of the internet and computers internationally. Computers are technological innovations that have completely changed the entire world and the way we do just about everything in a time span of only about half a century.
